While we originally loved Pioneer and left an AMAZING review, I have since deleted it as our experience has become a nightmare. Our new Goodman unit was installed in April, along with new ductwork. It worked wonderfully until about June 5th. Our unit has ...stopped cooling three times, and every time it stops cooling, we have to call Pioneer to come fix it. The technician that came out on June 5th found the issue and said it came from the manufacturer that way; he got it temporarily fixed, but a new unit is needed since this one was not up to standard. However, we never got confirmation for a new unit and never received a call about getting a new unit. Our unit stopped cooling again, and on June 17th, two more technicians came out and temporarily fixed it. They said they were trying to get us a new unit, but we've not heard back from that front. By June 21st, our unit has stopped cooling AGAIN. We understood completely when the original technician said this was a manufacturer's issue, and we didn't place blame on Pioneer. However, at some point, Pioneer needs to take accountability for not installing a new unit to create a permanent fix. It's awful being without cool air in temperatures that exceed 90°F. We can't cook when it's this hot and humid because cooking will just add more heat to our established inferno, so that adds to our grocery and gas bill as we have to get something for dinner each night. Not to mention, our utility bill is bound to be outlandish since every time the unit stops cooling, the inside temp goes to the mid-80s, and once the unit gets temporarily fixed, it has to cool the house down by 14 degrees Fahrenheit. The only good thing about Pioneer is that we should be getting a check for $500 for the initial frustration, but since we've had to call them two more times to get this unit fixed and nothing has been done permanently, I think we're entitled to more than that. In summary, we've had an awful experience and hate the way it turned out because we were originally impressed with Pioneer. I hope to reinstate a somewhat positive review when this nightmare is over. I was extremely disappointed in Pioneer Service staff. The first repairman who came out did not have the proper equipment to fix my water heater. The second repairman who came out did not know how to operate the equipment and had to call someone to get ...directions to operate the equipment. The quotes they gave me were what I thought were extremely high so I texted them to say I was going to get a second opinion rather than have them come out next week to repair the water heater. In return they called me back and stated that they could not repaired my water heater they were too busy. I did get a second wrote and it was $300 cheaper than what they quoted me. I would not recommend this company nor will I ever call them for service again. Incompetent help and then when you do not agree with what they tell you they leave you high and dry. Our AC was out - they sent a tech that did a great job - came was professional and diagnosed. They started trying to sell me a new unit almost immediately. He said, oh these older Carriers were not very good and most people have already replaced them”. So I suspected then how it would go and was not disappointed. He said I was low on ...refrigerant and said I could just top it off, replace the coil or replace the whole unit. Replacing the coil would be around $4k. He advised just topping it off and I said ok. Great. Later that day it was apparent that the problem was not fixed. I called the office and was informed that the tech had warned me that there was a leak and this was all MY fault. The operator actually told me that it was like my car had a leak and I decided to just let it go. Call somebody else if you need hvac service.Read More...
