IT’S ALLERGY TIME IN TENNESSEE!

Springtime is allergy time in Tennessee, and the Knoxville area is one of the worst in the nation for pollen and other irritants that contribute to allergies.

More than half of the U.S. population has some form of allergy, according to the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology, and up to 40 percent of children suffer from the hay fever allergy associated with spring pollen production, according to the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.

For many East Tennesseans, that means springtime is time for sneezing, runny noses, watery eyes and scratchy throats – all of which can leave sufferers feeling run down and worn out.

Further, government studies suggest that the air in our homes and other buildings can be more heavily polluted than the air outdoors – even in large, industrialized cities. Other research concludes that Americans spend as much as 90 percent of their time indoors. So, for many of us, airborne contaminants inside of our own homes may aggravate our allergies and other respiratory conditions, such as asthma, as much as the outside air.

But with blooming plants launching pollen spores on every spring breeze, you can’t just open the windows to get rid of indoor air pollutants. So how can you prepare your home for the spring allergy season? Call Pioneer Heating and Air and ask about the CleanEffects™ home filter system, from Trane. Trane CleanEffects™ cleanses the air in your home of airborne allergens up to 100 times more than a standard filter. It first traps the large, airborne particles that circulate through the air in your home. Most of the large particles are caught by the pre-filter as the air flows through it.

Small particles are then charged by the CleanEffects system. Incoming air must pass through a series of electrically charged fields created by the field charger. Rather than the air passing over a single charged metal wire or plate, as in traditional electronic air filter systems, in the CleanEffects system, the air passes through many small electrical fields, so more airborne pollutants are collected. Finally, even tinier particles are collected. The system’s collection element layers are separated by only .08 of an inch, with alternating charges. This creates a more powerful, more effective collection field that traps particles down to .1 micron in size. Because the system won’t clog and restrict airflow, its filter is the most efficient on the market. And its collection surface is eight times larger than an electronic air cleaner.

So instead of allergy time in Tennessee, why not make this springtime clean air time inside your home? There’s no reason to deal with troublesome indoor airborne contaminants and the sneezing, wheezing and coughing they can cause when, with Trane’s CleanEffects™ home filter system, Pioneer Heating and Air can remove up to 99.98 percent of allergens in your home.
